Organiser’s Comments
Despite the drizzle, some squally showers, and a strong wind that made
running the downhill stretches from Winster to Sheepwash seem as though it was uphill,
everyone seemed to enjoy the event. One or two runners got temporarily
misplaced on their route but survived to finish. The last team came in at 1840
so congratulations to them (MDOC B) for sticking with it.
My thanks to Mike and Liz Godfree for managing the Start/Finish and for
producing the Results, to my control marshalls who either put out
controls/brought them in or manned the control and to Phil Williams who
co-planned with me and walked the full route.
Next year MDOC are the organisers and I know they are planning some tweaks to
the format. I'm sure we will get in to a different part of the Peak District -
and that is one of the aims: to explore footpaths in the Peak District that we
might not normally visit and to have a race in a friendly, yet competitive,
atmosphere.
